This webpage presents information about the PyroProf Project (official title: Chemical Profiling of Inorganic and Pyrotechnic Explosives) and the members of its research team. In addition, it shows news and events related to the project, such as symposiums, scientific dissemination events, new updates, published scientific articles or achievements. It also provides a meeting place and discussion forum for the scientific community, forensic experts and general public interested in topics such as forensic chemistry and analytical chemistry, specifically about chemical compositions of pre- and post-blast samples of pyrotechnics items, legal and illegal fireworks and some inorganic explosives, and concerning new ion chromatography-mass spectrometry (IC-MS) and capilar electrophoresis-mass spectrometry (CE-MS) forensic analytical methodologies.

The research team
Carlos Martín-Alberca, Ph.D.
The Spanish researcher Carlos has over 6 years of experience in R&D related to Forensic Analytical Chemistry, specifically on the study of pyrotechnic compositions, explosion residues, ignitable liquids and fire debris. He has developed several analytical methodologies by separation and spectroscopic techniques such as GC-MS, CE, FTIR or Raman.
